Prayer

Prayer is a free outgoing call to heaven, no battery power, no charging, no network problem, no simcard to use. Always good signal and with endless talk time.

So whats my excuse for not praying?

No time, very tired, too sleepy, not feeling well, etc.

Sometimes, Im so full of excuses not to use this mighty weapon that God has given me. The Bible says, we are in a war, and I know for sure, its foolishness to enter a battlefield to war, without any weapons. From today, Im going to go on a prayerful strike daily, yes that means Im going to be prayerful and strike the devil daily.

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (NKJV) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

The Great Flood

Genesis 7:11-12 (NKJV) In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.

During Noah’s time, when it rained for forty days and forty nights, it was at this time the Bible says that God opened up the windows of heaven that caused the great flood. The entire earth was filled with water…… no land ……… only water, all over the earth, what a sight to see.

That what’s so awesome about Gods word, it always comes to pass, He warned Noah about the flood, and it did happen. God promises this same flood, in our finances also, amazing know? read on.

In Malachi 3:10 (NKJV) God says bring all the tithes into the storehouse (church), and try me (a challenge from God), if I will not open the windows of heaven (the same windows which caused the great flood) wow………. and pour out for you such a blessing, that there will be no room enough to receive it.

Now that sounds like a Great Flood of blessings, that no room can contain, awesome isn’t it?

Place prepared for you

By His word, God created the entire universe, calling into existence, the things that did not exist. He created the sun, the stars, the planets. He created the mountains, the waterfalls, trees, animals, birds and every kind of fish. Till today man has not been able to expore the entire beautiful planet, leave alone the universe. Imagine God created all this in just 6 days, …….just….6…..days, wow.

In the Bible the Lord Jesus said, “I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:2-3 (NASB).

Now this the Lord said 2000 years ago. If in 6 days the Lord created this marvelous universe, and for 2000 years the Lord is preparing, and till today He continues to prepare, a place for you. Just imagine, what that place is going to be like, WOW.

Gods Forgiveness

1 John 1:9 (NASB) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Because of the finished work of the cross, Gods forgiveness is freely available, but the key is confession. Many times we struggle with unforgiveness towards ourselves, we try to live in guilt of mistakes, that we have committed. We often say “I cant forgive myself for what I’ve done”. We keep carrying the burden of unforgiveness where ever we go. At times we come up with all kinds of excuses, and even go to the extent of blaming others, for the mistakes we have committed.

The Word of God very clearly says, that “IF” we confess our sins to God, that means, “IF” we take ownership or responsibility for what we have done, without giving any excuses, then God who is faithful and righteous, will forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Now, the best part about Gods forgiveness is mentioned in Isaiah 43:25 (NKJV) “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins”. Imagine, you may remember your sin, but God says “I will not remember your sin.” Now, thats what I call awesome forgiveness, from an awesome God.

Why me?

Arthur Ashe (1943-1993), the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received during a heart surgery in 1983. He received letters from his fans world over, one of which conveyed: “Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease”?

To this Arthur Ashe replied: The world over — 5 crore children start playing tennis, 50 lakh learn to play tennis, 5 lakh learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals, When I was holding a cup I never asked GOD “Why me?”.

And today in pain I should not be asking GOD “Why me?”.

How many times I’ve asked GOD “Why me, Why me, Why me?”. When there is suffering, why me? when there is problems, why me? And finally when He called me to serve in HIS Kingdom, I asked HIM again….. Why me?. Well to that last question, GOD patiently answered, in HIS own special, loving way “WHY NOT YOU?”. With trembling feet and as tears rolled down, I answered and said “yes Lord, here I am, at YOUR service”.

We have often been smart enough to asked GOD “Why me?” when situations are not good, or when we don’t like something in our lives. But have always failed, to ask the same question when we are blessed.

GOD knows best, and HE will only give you whats good for you. So the next time instead of asking “Why me?”, we should tell the Lord “Try me”.

Food for thought – especially for believers in Jesus Christ

People are very observant, they can tell whenever we are leaving for a holiday, or going for a picnic, or migrating to another country. They know, by seeing the preparations done, the difference in attitude, the immense joy, the positive behaviour, the excitement, the packed luggage, etc. All very natural ofcourse, very natural.

The Word of God says that if we believe and confess in the Lord Jesus, we are saved from hell, and have God’s guarantee, that we are going to heaven. Now the question that arises is, are we living here on earth, as if we are going to live here forever, or are we preparing ourselves for that place called heaven. Are those same observant people observing a difference in our attitude, a joy, an excitement, or are we still stuck up in cares of this world, and worldly pleasures?

Remember, God never lies, never goes back on His word, His words are yes and amen. Gods word is His guarantee. If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you have Gods assurance, that your name is written in the book of life. Lets us learn to trust more in a God, who is so faithful.

Romans 10:9-10 (NASB) That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

BIBLE

A father was approached by his small son, who told him proudly.”I know what the Bible means!” His father smiled and replied, “What do you mean, you ‘know’ what the Bible means?” The son replied, “I do know!”. “Okay,” said the father. “So, Son what does the Bible mean. “That’s easy, Daddy…….It stands for: “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.”

So true, right? I remember I once read an article, that said that The Bible (Word of God) is like a manual for us. Its just like every electronic item which comes with a manual, i.e. the do’s and dont’s, for a better working of the item. Imagine, if we do not read the manual and do exactly the opposite, who is responsible for the break down of the item, even the manufacturer will not take responsibility, infact many of the manuals clearly state that if you do the dont’s the warranty is void.

Similarly we too have a manual which is The Bible – The Word of God. We need to base our lives on the way The Bible instructs us to. Many times the mistake we do is, that we listen to what other people tell us, or follow where the majority goes. Remember on the day of judgement, noone will be able to blame anybody, or give an excuse that we didnt know. We all have to read, meditate and follow The Bible, Word by Word.

Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Risk

Imagine if you had to leave your family, your home, your country, for one purpose which is to “serve”, (so that others benefit from your sacrifice). Well, the risk involved would be, whether you would be loved (appreciated), or would you be hated and rejected by ungrateful hearts?

Jesus the greatest King, not only left His throne, His Kingdom, His position, but everything for one purpose, one mission, one reason …………… and that is “You“. Love for you, compelled Him, to give up everything.

Choose, to appreciate and love Him back, or be ungrateful. The choice is yours….

John 3:16 (NASB) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Thus God’s love overcame, the greatest risk, ever known to mankind.

Awesome

A word such as “Awesome” is only meant for a God so Awesome. I have made a decision that from today this word will be exclusively used to describe my God. Truly yesterday I experienced a great time in Gods awesome tangible presence, when His presence comes, all worries, troubles, anxiousness leaves, believe me it works.

Praise God for being my God, and for calling me by name, to serve in His everlasting Kingdom. If He did it for me, He can do it for anyone.
